You are Worthy

Do not undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others.
It is because we are different that each of us is special.
Do not set your goals by what other people deem important.
Only you know what is best for you.

Do not take for granted the things closest to your heart.
Cling to them as you would your life,
for without them, life is meaningless.
Do not let your life slip through your fingers
By living in the past nor for the future.

By living your life one day at a time,
You live all the days of your life.
Do not give up when you still have something to give.
Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.
It is a fragile thread that binds us to each other.

Do not be afraid to encounter risks.
It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.
Do not shut love out of your life by saying it is impossible to find.
The quickest way to receive love is to give love;
The fastest way to lose love is too hold it too tightly;

In addition, the best way to keep love is to give it wings.
Do not dismiss your dreams.
To be without dreams is to be without hope;
To be without hope is to be without purpose.

Do not run through life so fast that you forget
not only where you have been, but also where you are going.
Life is not a race,
But a journey to be savored each step of the way.

About Me

I came screeching into this world on 2 April 1958. I spent the first few weeks of my life being carried around on a pillow because I was so tiny that they were afraid they would break me! I weighed a scant 5 pounds and was 18 inches long! Geez, I'm still not very big even now! I am barely 5 feet tall and weigh about 90 pounds! How did I come to be named "Seron", a lot of people ask! Oh what a story that is! My mom had every intention of naming me "Vava Darlene", her fav name was Darlene and her fav aunt was Vava Chandler. They lived in Chicago at the time, and one day mom went to the employment office and the woman's name was "Soron". Mom fell in love with the name, changed the spelling and pronounciation of it to "Seron"....said like SA with the a short sounding. You'd have to hear it to be able to say it! That's why I go by Sissi, because people see my name and don't know if it's a man or a woman, much less how to even attempt to say it! :)

I was born here in Dyersburg, but lived in Chicago for 5 years as a child. I've lived in Kentucky, Alabama, Indiana, and other cities scattered around the West Tennessee area. I lived in Kitzingen, Germany from 1977 to 1980, and really enjoyed it! I know you have probably heard of the Leaning tower of Pisa? Well, there is a Leaning Tower in Kitzingen too! Germany is a beautiful, clean country, and one of these days I hope to be able to go back and visit! I'd like to be able to visit Australia and Canada too one of these days! I long to see Russia and Ireland, as well! I need to win a Lottery!!! I'd spend quite a while touring the world! AFTER I bought a dynamite lap-top computer, that is! Can't miss out on the Internet! I have a HUGE family here that I can't lose contact with! I love you all :)

I was an Army brat, then and Army wife. Both my babies were born in military hospitals, delivered by natural childbirth by mid-wives. What was soooo funny in both cases was that we had quite a long drive to get to the hospital! It so happened that both times the car's gas tank was nearly empty and it was in the very wee hours of the morning when no gas stations were open! I guess we were all lucky that poor Barry didn't have to deliver the babes himself! Oh.... he was in the delivery room both times and did great!

My lineage is long and very mixed! I have family that were Native American, Cherokee, to be exact! Other's are from England, Ireland and other points beyond!

My Love of Music

Sissi Living a Dream: Seated at Elvis' White & Gold Piano

I was raised to have a great love and appreciation of music. I can remember my mom, dad, and two aunts constantly having music playing! From my mom, came the love of Johnny Tillotson, Patsy Cline, Bobby Vinton, Hank Williams Senior, Joe Stampley, and so many other's!

From my two aunts, Barbara Jo, and Judy, I got the love of Elvis, the Beatles, The Osmond Brothers, The Jackson 5, and other's. I had a major crush on Donny Osmond! :)

My dad gave me the love of Tammy Wynette, George Jones, Loretta Lynn, and other's of the late 60's and 70's.

My step-daddy, Jerry, and his brother Danny, introduced me to other types of music! They were DJ's....I remember my favorites were "They're coming to take me away", "Hey There Little Red Riding Hood", and other cute songs! From these two I came to know Bobby Goldsboro, Glen Campbell, Barry Manilow, and others.

From Barry, my first husband and the father of my children, I came to know The Moody Blues, Bee Gees, Bob Seager, and others of the 70's and 80's.

Now, I am enjoying hearing these great singer's music as well as other music, being done in "midi"! I would like to thank all of you that have brought this music onto the Internet for our enjoyment! Don Carroll, Tommy Williams, Gary Allen, and all of the other's too numerous to name. My heartfelt thanks!:)

As I write all this, I am listening to Johnny Tillotson...he is singing oh so sweetly to me! My daddy recorded an entire 90 minute cassette for me last year! I've GOT to have music in my life...God/Goddess, Jesus, Angels, my two beautiful babies, my special sisters, family, friends, music, sunshine, love, nature ... these are what make my world "complete". So THAT, my dear friends, is why you will hear music on all of my pages! It's a HUGE part of my life!

Malcolm graduated from Dyer County High School two years ago. I haven't gotten to see his georgous face since right before Christmas. You know, it really hurts when your kids grow up and go off to live their own lives away from where they grew up. Now I know how my mom felt when I went off to live in Europe and she didn't see me or her grandkids for three years! Malcolm was six months old when I left......Malcolm was 3 years old and Allan was 6 months old when we got back.

Allan is a genius! Well, actually I call him a genius! He makes such good grades in school, all A's and an occasional "B". He's in 10th grade now and has made straight A's in High School! He's my georgous little Allan! He goes to Church and enjoys the trips with the youth group. He would like to be a missionary this summer, if possible. He has dreams of moving off to a HUGE city when he graduates from High School. Chicago, Atlanta, New York....somewhere like that. So, there will go another of my babies...off away from here! Well, that's when I'll think of moving off somewhere myself I guess! Get close to my babies!

Reflections of Sissi by Silver Lady

I first knew of Sissi from Missy's Journal. Her site was listed under Missy's Favorite Links and I visited it several times during the spring of 1997. After Missy's death, I visited it again to wander through the Circle of Hands which listed many sites with dedication pages to Missy angel. I became active in HOLAS (the House of Love and Support) which Sissi designed a beautiful logo for. It was there on the messageboard through her postings that I felt honored to get to know Sissi a little better.

I know that I speak for many many sisters when I say that Sissi is loved dearly. She radiates genuine goodness as freely as the sun shines on the heavens. Her friendliness is well known and her friendship is a gift from the angels. She has a delicious sense of humor and a wonderful "little kid" that loves to play. She almost always has a word of cheer for others and brightens their day. Sissi would not speak of herself so..nor would she encourage us too (*LOL*) because she is also very modest. I suspect she will blush when she reads this part...

Her site is HUGE but she has divided it into sections to make it easier to navigate. Her site is loaded with seemingly endless vistas of fascinating goodies and visual beauty: from the Bats in the Belfry house to looking for missing faerie dust to her free Twilight Graphics art and her wondrous realms of earth, sea, godesses and more...Fantasy Realms is a neat reflection on its creator.

We almost lost Sissi last fall due to a terrible car accident (which wasn't her fault)...I remember reading her happy note posted on the HOLAS message board about being so excited to leave for a new job and get to visit friends and family. I also remember being in shock when Kari posted about the accident. Tears which I had shed so freely for Missy (and when my beloved Siamese Tasha went to the Rainbow Bridge) just poured down my cheeks. I was humbled and awed by the outpouring of love and support and prayers and good wishes that focused on this special sister of ours but I was not suprised that it should be so.

With a new page turned in her life, our Sissi has demonstrated outstanding bravery and courage in the face of physical limitations and setbacks that might have turned another into a quivering mass of inertia. I know you will gladly join me in continuing to support her recovery with good wishes and healing thoughts. *Love ya Sis*
