Mary, the
Nomad Cyberqueen
Oh! I am so glad to see you! My name is Mary but I am known also as
the Nomad CyberQueen, nice to meet you! I paint digitally, as well as
in watercolor, acrylic and of course, oils.
Mary Broussard was raised in Larchmont, New York and moved to Florida with her parents when she was in her teens. She served in the U. S. Air Force during the mid 1960's. Thereafter she traveled extensively from one coast of the U.S. to the other. She and her husband spent many years in California before moving back to Florida.
Any leisure time that she could find while raising her children, attending courses and workshops, as well as juggling a career was spent painting in oils, watercolors and acrylic. She has displayed her paintings in various art shows in California, Miami as well as the Florida State Fair Exhibit. Many of her floral paintings grace professional offices in Florida.
Mary has technical computer knowledge from her experience in systems administration when she worked for a Tallahassee firm. There she learned to program in both Cobol and Basic. This led her to learn more about rendering art on a computer. She first started creating commercial computer graphics in 1989 on an Amiga 2000 computer with various vector graphics, bitmap paint programs as well as rendering software. She has experience in desktop publishing design as well as digital art.
Mary is now living in Florida with her husband Mike.
A Few Exerpts
from the Tale of
the Nomad Queen
What Place is this?
What place is this? Where am I? Am I dreaming? Why do I dream of this place? It seems so familiar, yet I am not sure that I was ever here! I remember it though, I was here once, but it was oh so long ago! Oh tis a sweet place! Something is happening! Oh how bright the light shines down tonight!
Look, oh, look at the lights!!!!! See how strong they are! What does the future hold for me?
Questions, questions, all that come to mind are a myriad of questions.
The stars stand out in the bright crisp evening air
No more sun --- no more moon but the heavens still glow
The sand reflects only the starlight on its soft surface
She was alone in the cool clean air
Standing by the seashore looking at the sky
Searching and searching but he was nowhere near
Up above her the tree branches are bare
Still winter -- still cold -- still all on her own
"Tis my grief for I gave him my love"
"To my sorrow I am now left behind"
These things she sees -- through love doth she see them
Sadness and sorrow her new companions - Tears begin to well
Wishing there were music to sing and dance to
She looked hard into night sky - but her love is it there
Stars shine so brightly though the moon is now gone
Now the planets arrive all in a row
The planets they shine in the distance
Farther off more come into view
These stars they grow whiter - her face it shines brighter
Now the tears start to dry
Lifting herself off the sandy hilltop she laughs once again
Running swiftly to the cliffside
Looking at the view from the hilltops she glides up
To join the bright ones and the happy sweet shy ones
Silver Lady Speaks of
Mary the Nomad CyberQueen
At a very
low point in my life last summer with my 16 year old daughter having only a week
to go til her baby was born and the adoption still being blocked;
Mary made me smile through my tears with her kindness and I have always
been grateful for that. It was a simple thing really..a small gesture..
I had been surfing round her site and found an awesome copyrighted background
which I adored and wanted to use as a wallpaper.
I sent her an email to that effect and she responded
by telling me that even though she was swamped with mail she answered
mine promptly because I was the only one who like her who was stressed out so
bad they didn't even notice their mailer was dating things like
three months ahead of time *rofl* I stopped to look and sure enough
even though it was July my emailer was merrily stamping the date as
October!!! *LOL*
Mary's good name walks side by side with beauty and esteem from
her many many web friends. She has interacted graciously with any
number of people providing assistance and making graphic dreams
come true. The small exerpt from the Tale of the Nomad Queen is but
a pale mooncast shadow to the true richness and hauntingly lovely
mystic beauty which can be found on her site pages. As Carole said
in Star Trek II, "can I cook or can I cook!" (regarding the Genesis
device which caused planets to evolve into flora & fauna)
Among Mary's many offerings are: a keen support of
web prestige, dinosaur stuff, free graphics, html help, help with
graphics, how to paint an orchid, her interest in ecology and endangered species, personal
and business art galleries.
Mary's site reminds me of a beautiful butterfly because everytime
it metamorphasizes it just gets more & more wonderful. I know I speak
for many who are thankful to know Mary and appreciate all that she
has contributed to LOTH. *hugs*
